Research

GRASPAGAIN is real

Years of research at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg show that muscle activity can remain even when no hand movement is visible. Sensors on the skin allow us to measure these signals. We have demonstrated this in numerous participants with paralysis, and our participants are already training to use these signals for control.

We have also tested the neuroorthosis in everyday scenarios with a small number of participants, investigating how well it assists hand movement. GRASPAGAIN is in the validation phase. Research and development are ongoing.
